Annual Stipend

Resident’s are offered an annual salary of $61,516.

Malpractice Insurance

The hospital furnishes and maintains sufficient malpractice insurance, or maintains a qualified self-insurance program for the resident, with limits of $1 million/$3 million, covering any actions resulting from professional activities which are part of the General Practice Residency Training Program.

Medical Insurance Plan

The resident is entitled to participate in the hospital’s health care protection plans as regularly available to hospital employees.

Employee Discount

The resident is eligible for a discount on charges incurred at the healthcare facilities for inpatient and outpatient services. This discount applies to the balance due after customary insurance coverage has been applied.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO is a system of providing residents with paid benefit time for use as vacation, holiday, personal and sick time. This paid benefit time consists of two separate accounts; a PTO account and an Extended Sick Leave Bank (ESLB). Days in the PTO account may be used for such purposes as vacation, holidays, personal days or brief illnesses.

Paid Time Off (PTO) Account

Residents will get 20 days PTO during the program year. Residents are required to use 1 PTO day for each of the following six recognized holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Accrued, unused PTO will be payable at 100 percent upon termination.

Extended Sick Leave Bank (ESLB)

Residents are eligible for 9 ESLB days during the program year. ESLB days accrue from date of hire at a rate of .03461538 hours per hour paid. The Extended Sick Leave Bank can be accessed from the third consecutive missed workday, provided a physician’s slip is presented on the first day back to work.

Continuing Education Stipend

Residents will receive a $250 reimbursement for attending an ADA CERP accredited continuing education program of their choice. A portion of the continuing education stipend is designated for the residents registration to attend the CNY Implant Study Group.

Reimbursement for Dental Residency Program Registration

The $105 cost of New York State Education Department Dental Residency Registration is paid by the hospital.

Reimbursement for “Infection Control” Certification

New York State required Infection Control Certification cost is reimbursed by the hospital.

Reimbursement for “Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment” Certification

Residents are reimbursed the cost of obtaining the required certification for “Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment” as required by New York State.

Clinical Uniform

Residents will receive 2 white coats and 2 sets of scrubs, provided by the hospital.

Pre-Employment Physical & Lab Work

All hospital pre-employment physical and laboratory work is paid for by the hospital if completed by the hospital’s Employee Health Clinic and outpatient laboratory.

Parking Permit

Residents are furnished with a parking permit at no cost.

Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

The cost of taking BLS & ACLS course is covered by the hospital.

Wellness Program

The hospital has partnered with Interactive Health Solutions (IHS) to administer free, confidential health screenings for employees to assess their current health status. Participants receive a detailed report that review your results, highlight areas for improvement and provide general wellness recommendations.

This process gives employees:

  • A free and complete preventative health evaluation (lab work) conveniently administered at the workplace
  • Printed and online health education tools
  • Thorough lab analysis with the ability to forward results to your primary care physician
  • Personal health management support for employees including health coaching.

Annual Flu Shot

The hospital provides an annual flu shot to all residents at no cost.
