What services do VNA’s skilled nursing professionals provide?

Our professional nursing staff provides assessments and treatments including home intravenous therapy, wound care and Home TeleHealth. Our certified wound care nurse provides treatment for diabetic, pressure and stasis ulcers, surgical and traumatic wounds, in-home Doppler screening and ostomy assessment and evaluation. Home health aides provide assistance with your personal hygiene and light housekeeping.

What is Home TeleHealth?

Home TeleHealth allows your nurse to see and monitor you in your home through a basic monitor and central computer located at the VNA offices. You are able to see and interact with your nurse. Your blood pressure, heart and lung sounds, weight and oxygen levels are gathered and recorded. Your nurse then delivers this information to your doctor.

VNA’s Therapy Department

Our Therapy Department provides education and support services. Physical therapists work with you to improve your strength, walking, range of motion, functioning and mobility. Occupational therapists help build your ability to perform activities of daily living such as dressing and bathing. Speech therapists assist if you have difficulty speaking, communicating or trouble swallowing. Nutritional counseling is also available.

VNA’s Medical Social Services

Our medical social worker (MSW) can:

  • Counsel you and your family regarding your illness
  • Assist with completion of medical insurance forms
  • Make referrals and appropriate connections to community services.
