We will only be accepting PGY1 residents each year while we build our program.

Will residents be able to moonlight?

With written approval from the program director, a resident will be allowed to moonlight in their PGY-3 and PGY-4 year on a case-by-case basis. It will be determined by the resident’s progress and the nature of the moonlighting venue. Moonlighting activity must not interfere with the ability of the resident to achieve the goals and objectives of the educational program. Under no circumstances will moonlighting be allowed to cause the resident to violate work hour regulations, including the need to have a minimum of 8 hours off between shifts. Any resident who moonlights will have their work hours verified by the employer and will be required to submit this documentation weekly to the Program Coordinator as per the institutional policy.

Do you provide housing?

While we do not provide housing, we will work with local landlords to have a certain amount of apartments reserved on a first come first serve basis for incoming residents.  All costs associated with these rentals will be the responsibility of the resident.

Are there any medical school affiliations?

The Wynn Hospital is an official clinical campus for both Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.  As such, students from both campuses spend their 3rd year with us for their cores and are given the options to do their 4th year electives with us.  We also share select didactics, OMM workshops, board preparation seminars and have full access to their IRB.

What type of board score are necessary to be accepted into the program?

We are looking for residents committed to high quality and safe patient care across the continuum of healthcare. Therefore, it will be important to have a well-rounded file that includes solid board scores, community involvement, a clearly defined passion for your educational goals and letters of recommendation that capture your clinical and personal strengths
