Eva Slusher, SLP, is originally from Beaufort, South Carolina, where she grew up and completed her early education in the low country. She received her bachelor’s degree of Science in Exercise Science and minor in Spanish from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. Eva then received her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Eva completed her clinical fellowship in the inpatient rehabilitation unit (IRU) and acute care setting of St Luke’s hospital in Utica, NY, and obtained her American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in 2023. Eva has primary experience working in the following settings: Outpatient Rehabilitation, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care and Skilled Nursing Facility.
Eva has experience in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, social-communication, cognitive-communication, AAC, voice, swallowing and feeding disorders across the lifespan. She is bilingual in both English and Spanish and is passionate about providing services to both language populations. In the adult population, Eva has specialized interests in dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and voice disorders for adults either with existing neurodegenerative conditions (i.e. Parkinson’s disease) or following a stroke/acquired TBI. She also has specialized interest in pediatric populations targeting feeding and early acquisition of language skills.
