In recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), in collaboration with Upstate Urology at MVHS, is offering free prostate cancer screenings on select dates throughout September for men ages 45 to 75.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among American men and the second-leading cause of cancer-related death in men. Approximately one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. When detected early, prostate cancer is highly treatable, making routine screening an important part of men’s health.
The free screening includes a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and a prostate exam performed by a urology provider.
Screenings will be held at Upstate Urology at MVHS, located on the second floor of the Faxton Campus, 1675 Bennett Street, Utica, on the following dates:
- September 14, 24 and 28: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- September 23: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
