MVHS Offers Breastfeeding Café and Free Classes, Support for Mothers
UTICA, N.Y. – The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Maternal Child Services offers free monthly breastfeeding classes for expectant parents who have chosen or are considering breastfeeding. Common breastfeeding concerns will be addressed and breastfeeding education and resource information will be provided. Fathers are encouraged to attend.
Classes are held at the CenteringPregnancy room, located on the first floor of the MVHS Faxton Campus at 1675 Bennett Street, Utica, New York. Classes are held every first Monday of the month from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. For more information or to register for classes please call 315-917-7436.
In addition to these classes, MVHS offers the Breastfeeding Café as a meeting space for pregnant and breastfeeding moms to support one another, socialize and receive clinical support. Refreshments are served and a baby weight station is available. The group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from noon to 2:30 p.m. in the CenteringPregnancy room, located on the first floor of the MVHS Faxton Campus at 1675 Bennett Street, Utica, New York.
