Registered nurses at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), represented by the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), have voted to ratify a new contract extending through December 31, 2027.

“We are thrilled to have reached this agreement, which we believe offers competitive benefits and opportunities for our nurses,” said Darlene Stromstad, FACHE, president/CEO of MVHS. “This contract will support our ongoing efforts to recruit and retain top nursing talent while ensuring the highest quality care for our patients.”

Stromstad also highlighted the contract’s significance in uniting nurses from both St. Luke’s and St. Elizabeth hospitals under a single agreement. “This is a historic milestone for our organization. It reflects our collective progress as we move forward together in the Wynn Hospital and across our community sites.”

MVHS and our nurses’ union have been engaged in negotiations since November 2024 to reach this agreement. MVHS extends its gratitude to the NYSNA bargaining team for their dedication and collaboration in finalizing the contract and to their exceptional focus on patient care.
