The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Foundation announced today that its annual golf outing, the Wynn Hospital Classic presented by Bank of America, raised more than $225,000 – a record-breaking total for the event. Proceeds from the Classic support the new, state-of-the-art Wynn Hospital in downtown Utica.

The tournament was held at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, where nearly 60 teams and 224 golfers participated in support of the Wynn Hospital. The event was organized by the MVHS Foundation and golfers played on both Shenendoah and Kaluhyat golf courses.

“This year’s golf Classic was a wonderful success for the Foundation and raised more funds than any previous tournament held by MVHS or its legacy organizations,” said Terry Mielnicki Co-Chair of the Wynn Hospital Classic. “We are extremely grateful to the golfers, sponsors and volunteers whose support made this event possible.”

“Thanks to the generosity of so many, we are able to provide continued, exceptional care for patients and the community who rely on the Wynn Hospital for care,” said Darren Woods, Co-Chair of the Wynn Hospital Classic. “Every single swing and putt at this year’s event made a difference and we are so appreciative to all who joined us on this special day.”

This year’s course sponsors included Bank of America, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 43 and the National Electric Contractors Association – Finger Lakes Chapter and more than 51 other local businesses and organizations supported the event at a variety of levels.
