MVHS offers our Household Sharps Disposal Program for community members to properly dispose of their medical waste.

Items such as syringes and lancets can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:

FSLH Energy Center located on the St. Luke’s Campus 
1656 Champlin Avenue, New Hartford

Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services (CRCCS)
St. Luke’s Campus at 1650 Champlin Avenue, Utica.
(Items dropped off at CRCCS can be given to the receptionist.)

In addition, sharp instruments may also be brought to the St. Elizabeth Campus Hospital Services Department, located in the basement, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Only items from private residences in clearly marked “sharps” puncture-proof containers will be accepted.
