Benefits Highlights

Patient-Centered Care

Patient-centered care puts the patient and resident at the center of all we do. It allows employees to contribute suggestions and provide feedback about how to improve the patient and resident experience in the organization. Select staff members from each department represent their fellow employees in departmental committees, acting as the voice/advocate for change and improvement in the delivery of care.

Tuition Reimbursement Program

Employees can continue their education while working at MVHS, by earning a grade of C or better, you qualify to be reimbursed for your academic tuition.

Career and Professional Development

We believe in our employees and want to help them reach their career goals. With quality as our passion, we run annual professional development programs such as our Quality Academy, Aspiring Leaders Program and our Campaign For Quality conference which offers continuing medical education credits and is open to the community to attend as well. Our 2017 Aspiring Leaders class developed the concept and data for our new Prescription Discount Tool. Annual mandatory education and additional class opportunities are conducted online through our myNetLearning website.

Recognition Programs & Employee Engagement Team

Our goal is to provide consistent and frequent recognition that promotes our values and honors the great performance of our employees. Through our recognition website, employee-to-employee and manager-to-employee recognitions are able to be sent to each other instantly on computers or mobile devices. Employees can shop for high quality items in the online store with their reward points. Our Employee Engagement Team holds other events throughout the year, such as bus trips and an annual holiday party.

Employee Assistance Fund

The Employee Assistance Fund (EAF) provides assistance to employees who are enduring a financial hardship as a result of a catastrophic event in their lives. The EAF is funded through employee voluntary contributions to the MVHS Foundation (available through payroll deduction and direct contributions). Our “Casual for a Cause” program gives employees an opportunity to dress down on Fridays for a $2 donation to the fund.

Paid Time Off

Eligible full-time and regular part-time employees have various types of paid time off for use as vacation, personal time, holidays and brief illnesses. Employees are also able to donate hours to other employees in need due to medical or life circumstances.

Health/Dental/Vision Insurance

To provide you and/or your family with the options and flexibility you need, MVHS offers two health and dental insurance programs. Each program offers extensive coverage. We participate with Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield for our health insurance provider and Guardian for our dental insurance provider. Buy-up plans are available for health and dental. Vision is provided through Davis Vision.

Domestic Services

Our medical insurance plan features a tier of coverage that is specific to discounted services provided at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC). The discount applies to all domestic care which is defined as a service provided by a FSLH or SEMC-employed provider or a service billed by FSLH or SEMC as outlined in this directory.

myRx – Employee Pharmacy

Employees can fill prescriptions at cost if that amount is lower than your plan’s copay. Our retail pharmacy provides in-house prescription services to all MVHS employees and their dependents with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield health insurance coverage provided through MVHS. From maintenance medications and mail orders to one-time prescriptions and over the counter offerings, the myRx Pharmacy is a convenient alternative to traditional drugstores!

Flexible Spending Accounts & Dependent Care Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are a great way to set aside money to pay for expenses not covered by your insurance plans (except for insurance premiums). MVHS allows you to participate in this account on an annual basis.

Life Insurance

MVHS recognizes the importance of life insurance as a part of planning for your future. You will have three options available to you in terms of group term life coverage for you to purchase. These options include one times your salary, two times your salary or a flat dollar amount of $20,000.

Retirement Savings Plan

Eligible employees receive tax deferred contributions for their retirement savings, with contributions varying from employer base contributions, employee pre-tax contributions and employer-matching contributions. Employer contributions become vested over time and employee contributions are conveniently deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis.

Voluntary Benefits

Employees have the opportunity to purchase voluntary benefits at group rates through the convenience of payroll deduction. Voluntary benefits include cancer care coverage, voluntary short term disability, legal coverage and more!

Employee Assistance Program

Our Employee Assistance Program services are run locally by the Center for Family Life and Recovery. Life isn’t always easy, especially when caring for patients and their families. Our employees can speak to a counselor at no cost to them through this program.
