Our team of physicians and clinical staff members at MVHS specialize in cardiac, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
MVHS received the prestigious designation of HeartCARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and was the first in New York State to earn this recognition and one of only 36 hospitals nationwide to achieve this designation.

HeartCARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence
St. Elizabeth Medical Center is the Mohawk Valley’s only hospital recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+SM by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield for delivering quality specialty care. Blue Distinction Centers and Blue Distinction Centers+ for Cardiac Care provide a full range of inpatient cardiac care services, including coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve surgery, and angioplasty (percutaneous coronary intervention). These facilities demonstrate better quality and improved outcomes for patients, including lower rates of complications following certain cardiac procedures.
